SHREVEPORT, La. — Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin invites the public to an exhibit of the Louisiana Society of Animal Artists at the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum from November 21 through December 27. The exhibition of oil paintings and graphics will open with a small reception on Sunday, November 21, 2021 from 2-4 p.m. Local residents and visitors are invited to meet the artists, view the exhibit in the West Wing Gallery and enjoy light refreshments.

The Louisiana Society of Animal Artists continually pursues artistic excellence and broadens appreciation for subjects of the natural world by capturing wild and domestic animals in a wide range of media. “The exhibition will be a wonderful educational venue for visitors and provide the opportunity to meet with local artists and purchase fine art,” said Curator Nita Cole.
Participating artists include, Diane Burr, Carla Davis, Don Edwards, Linda Henry, Ron Kidwell, John McDonald, Sena McWilliams, Melba Miller, Eudenia Owens, Tina Pierson, Jeanne Marie Reed, Deanna Russell, and Esther Thompson.

The museum is located at 3015 Greenwood Road, Shreveport, La. 71109, between Hearne and Jewella streets.  Admission is free and tours are available by appointment. All state-mandated COVID safety protocols will be in place.
