Louisiana State Exhibit Museum to Present Louisiana Mud Mavens 

Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin invites the public to the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum to view an exhibition of Louisiana Mud Mavens Ceramic Art from Dec. 11 through Dec. 29.  The exhibition of glazed pottery and sculptures will open with an artists’ reception on Sunday, Dec. 11 from 2-4 p.m. The staff and Friends of the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum invite the public to meet the artists and view the exhibit in the West Wing Gallery.

Artists use several techniques to create their works, including hand building with coils and slabs, throwing on the wheel and sculpting. They then fire their stoneware and porcelain clays in oxidation kilns to complete their unique creations. Participating artists include Dorcas Brown, McKenzie Curtis, Trudy Daniel, Amanda Mann Davis, Gwyn Hults, Cindy Page and Mark Poole.
