Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin and the Friends of LSEM announce the opening of an extraordinary art exhibit of the Louisiana Society of Animal Artists. The Exhibition of oil paintings and graphic works, will open on Sunday, November 17, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with an artists’ reception. Light refreshments will be served.
Capturing wild and domestic creatures great and small, on land, sea and air, in a wide range of media and artistic expression, the Louisiana Society of Animal Artists continually pursue excellence and broaden appreciation for subjects of the natural world as Fine Art.
The Exhibition will be a wonderful educational venue for visitors and provide the opportunity to meet with local artists and purchase fine art.
Participating Artists include Jan Blount, Diane Burr, Carla Davis, Don Edwards, Ron Kidwell, Gayle LaCaze, John McDonald, Sena McWilliams, Melba Miller, Carolyn Pitts, Brent Reed, Jeanne Reed, Wayne Roberts, Deanna Russell, Megan Davis Taylor and Esther Thompson.
The Louisiana Society of Animal Artists Exhibition will be on display in the West Wing Gallery from November 17, 2019 until Friday December 27, 2019. The public is invited to view the exhibit during regular museum hours: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. The museum is located at 3015 Greenwood Road, between Hearne and Jewella Streets.
