Both exhibits will run from Nov. 19 through Dec. 28. \nThe Louisiana Society of Animal Artists’ winter exhibition will feature works depicting wild and domestic animal on a wide range of media. Participating artists including Carla Davis\, Don Edwards\, Ron Kidwell\, Pennye King\, Barbara McGowan\, Dickie Martin\, Melba Miller\, Tina Pearson\, Tammy Randall and Kay Wallace. \nThe LSUS Mud Mavens’ exhibition will feature students’ stoneware and porcelain clays\, made with coils and slabs\, throwing on the wheel and sculpting. The exhibition of oil paintings\, graphic works and found object sculpture will open with an artist’s reception in the West Wing Gallery on Thursday\, Jan. 11 from 4:30 – 7:00 p.m. with light refreshments provided by Friends of LSEM. The exhibit is free and open to the public. \nDr. Sewell’s work captures images of wild and domestic creatures in a wide range of media and artistic expressions\, and reflects his heritage and upbringing in north Louisiana. He has taken photographs\, drawn\, painted and created sculptures from his natural surroundings since the 1980s. DESCRIPTION:LOUISIANA STATE EXHIBIT MUSEUM TO PRESENT CREATIVE ART CONNECTION EXHIBIT “LAGNIAPPE – A LITTLE SOMETHING EXTRA” \nSHREVEPORT\, LA. — Secretary of State Nancy Landry invites the public to attend the opening of the Creative Art Connection of Bossier Parish’s art exhibit\, “Lagniappe – A Little Something Extra.” The exhibit will be on display from March 10 through March 28 in the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum’s West Wing Gallery. An opening reception will be held Sunday\, March 10 from 2 to 4 pm.  The reception is open to the public and the Friends of the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum will provide light refreshments. \nThe Creative Art Connection is a non-profit organization whose purpose it is to stimulate cultural development in Bossier Parish by providing an outlet for artists’ talents. “Lagniappe” will highlight a variety of artwork on canvas and paper in oil\, acrylic\, watercolor and pastel. The 41 member group will also offer works for sale. Artists participating this year include Theresa Billau\, Joan Cole\, Gretchen Crawford\, Trudy Daniel\, Judith Horne\, Sandra Jamison\, Bonnie Kirkley\, Deborah Mullinnix\, Kathleen Rives\, Beth Roubique\, Wesley Touchstone\, Karen Woodke\, Jeanie Clarkson\, Carolyn Pitts and Malik Stewart. \nThe museum is located at 3015 Greenwood Road\, Shreveport\, La. 71109\, between Hearne and Jewella streets. DESCRIPTION:LOUISIANA STATE EXHIBIT MUSEUM TO PRESENT CREATIVE ART CONNECTION EXHIBIT “LAGNIAPPE – A LITTLE SOMETHING EXTRA” \nSHREVEPORT\, LA. — Secretary of State Nancy Landry invites the public to attend the opening of the Creative Art Connection of Bossier Parish’s art exhibit\, “Lagniappe – A Little Something Extra.” The exhibit will be on display from March 10 through March 28 in the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum’s West Wing Gallery. An opening reception will be held Sunday\, March 10 from 2 to 4 pm.  The reception is open to the public and the Friends of the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum will provide light refreshments. \nThe Creative Art Connection is a non-profit organization whose purpose it is to stimulate cultural development in Bossier Parish by providing an outlet for artists’ talents. “Lagniappe” will highlight a variety of artwork on canvas and paper in oil\, acrylic\, watercolor and pastel. The 41 member group will also offer works for sale. Artists participating this year include Theresa Billau\, Joan Cole\, Gretchen Crawford\, Trudy Daniel\, Judith Horne\, Sandra Jamison\, Bonnie Kirkley\, Deborah Mullinnix\, Kathleen Rives\, Beth Roubique\, Wesley Touchstone\, Karen Woodke\, Jeanie Clarkson\, Carolyn Pitts and Malik Stewart. \nThe museum is located at 3015 Greenwood Road\, Shreveport\, La. 71109\, between Hearne and Jewella streets.
