Louisiana Secretary of State, Kyle Ardoin and The Friends of LSEM announce the opening of Spring season with a special exhibit, “The Enchanting World of Fantasy: Hats, Masks and Frivolities” at the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum.  The exhibit features elaborate one-of-a-kind fantasy hats and masks by Shreveport’s Dennis Beckman, Fantasy Designer.

The exhibit will run from March 15th through April 30, 2020.  Opening reception is Sunday, March 15, 2020 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm and is free to the public.  During the opening reception, attendees will be able to try on for “selfies” from a special selection of the designer’s hats and masks.

Beckman invites the public to wear their own favorite hat to the opening.  Madeline and Len Elford will provide musical entertainment on the piano and autoharp.

Beckman was the 2019 past King of the Krewe of Highland.  After 48 years in San Francisco creating masks for an international clientele through his store, the artist returned to his native home in Shreveport where he has been creating his works of art.  He creates and designs for his sister’s shop, The Enchanted Garden, located at 2429 Line Avenue in Shreveport.
