Archives Building Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
October 8, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 pm
On Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 10:00 AM, Secretary of State, Kyle Ardoin, along with local community leaders and members will attend a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the newly constructed Archives Building on the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum campus in Shreveport, LA.
The 6,800 square foot building will house employee offices, a curatorial lab, artifact storage, and a research and conference room. It was a long process getting the state funding but construction started in June, 2019. Shreveport based Thrash Construction Services, TCS and local architect Mark Williamson of Somdal & Associates brought the plans together to blend the new construction with the historical 81 year old museum building. The new building is attached at the south entrance (fairgrounds side).
The event is open to the public. Parking is available on the Greenwood Road entrance lot and the fairgrounds lot behind the museum.
