Chartered on October 15, 1982, the Friends of the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum provide financial and volunteer support to the Museum in three areas: exhibits, educational programs, and landscaping. Over the years, the Friends have provided the funding for collections based exhibits and sponsor exhibitions of local and regional art. The educational programs offered to local school children are made possible by Friends donations. With a formal courtyard, Herbal & Medicinal garden, and beautiful roses climbing the entrance gates of the Museum, the grounds are a retreat for all who visit. The Friends maintain these gardens and purchase new plants as needed.
The Friends of the Museum are vital to the survival of the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum. They bring cultural events and exhibits to our community, educational experiences to our children, and beauty to our neighborhood.
