LOUISIANA SOCIETY OF ANIMAL ARTISTS & LSUS MUD MAVENS

LOUISIANA STATE EXHIBIT MUSEUM TO PRESENT MUD MAVENS 

AND LOUISIANA SOCIETY OF ANIMAL ARTISTS

SHREVEPORT, La.Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin invites the public to view two upcoming exhibits at the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum. The Louisiana Society of Animal Artists and the Louisiana State University Shreveport Mud Mavens will hold their winter exhibitions at the museum, beginning with a reception on Sunday, Nov. 19 from 2-4 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. Both exhibits will run from Nov. 19 through Dec. 28.

The Louisiana Society of Animal Artists’ winter exhibition will feature works depicting wild and domestic animal on a wide range of media. Participating artists including Carla Davis, Don Edwards, Ron Kidwell, Pennye King, Barbara McGowan, Dickie Martin, Melba Miller, Tina Pearson, Tammy Randall and Kay Wallace.

The LSUS Mud Mavens’ exhibition will feature students’ stoneware and porcelain clays, made with coils and slabs, throwing on the wheel and sculpting. The group is led by Mark Poole, and the exhibition will feature work by Trudy Daniel, Amanda Mann Davis, Catherine Evans, Paula Frierson, Gwyn Hults, and Kathie Thomas.
