LOUISIANA STATE EXHIBIT MUSEUM TO PRESENT CREATIVE ART CONNECTION EXHIBIT “LAGNIAPPE – A LITTLE SOMETHING EXTRA”
SHREVEPORT, LA. — Secretary of State Nancy Landry invites the public to attend the opening of the Creative Art Connection of Bossier Parish’s art exhibit, “Lagniappe – A Little Something Extra.” The exhibit will be on display from March 10 through March 28 in the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum’s West Wing Gallery. An opening reception will be held Sunday, March 10 from 2 to 4 pm. The reception is open to the public and the Friends of the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum will provide light refreshments.
The Creative Art Connection is a non-profit organization whose purpose it is to stimulate cultural development in Bossier Parish by providing an outlet for artists’ talents. “Lagniappe” will highlight a variety of artwork on canvas and paper in oil, acrylic, watercolor and pastel. The 41 member group will also offer works for sale. Artists participating this year include Theresa Billau, Joan Cole, Gretchen Crawford, Trudy Daniel, Judith Horne, Sandra Jamison, Bonnie Kirkley, Deborah Mullinnix, Kathleen Rives, Beth Roubique, Wesley Touchstone, Karen Woodke, Jeanie Clarkson, Carolyn Pitts and Malik Stewart.
The museum is located at 3015 Greenwood Road, Shreveport, La. 71109, between Hearne and Jewella streets. Admission is free and tours are available by appointment.
