Louisiana: A Paradise for Birds
Charles Lyon is a Shreveport physician and spends many hours indoors serving the needs of others. He became very involved in the field of birding which carries him into our outdoor world. He travels throughout all corners of our great state to better study and understand our avian wonders.
As a coauthor of “A Birder’s Guide to Louisiana” published by the American Birding Association (July 2013) and as a past president of the Louisiana Ornithological Society, Dr. Lyon tries to reveal to others the value of our birdlife and help them understand how these feathered creatures enrich our lives.
According to Dr. Lyon, “It is now through my photography that I wish to present our birds to the public, and in so doing make an emotional connection to the viewers, such that they sense the beauty of each living creature in its living world.”
